Project Overview:

DCFL was engaged by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Schuller Contractors to complete essential roadway and drainage improvements on Canoe Creek Road in Saint Cloud, Florida. This project was executed on a tight timeline to ensure minimal disruption to the local community while meeting the high standards expected by FDOT.
Scope of Work: 
The Canoe Creek Road project included the following activities:​​​​​
  • Land Clearing and Grubbing:

    • Cleared and grubbed over 1.5 acres of land to prepare for construction.

  • Excavation and Embankment:

    • Excavated over 300 cubic yards of material.

    • Over 1,700 cubic yards of embankment material were placed to support the roadway infrastructure.

  • Detour Earthwork Base Installation:

    • Over 200 cubic yards of special detour earthwork base were installed to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow during construction.

  • Drainage System Installation:

    • Over 20 linear feet of 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) were installed.

    • Over 30 linear feet of equivalent elliptical reinforced concrete pipe (ERCP), sized at 36 inches were installed.

  • Riprap and Erosion Control:

    • Over 20 tons of riprap rubble were placed to stabilize drainage areas and prevent erosion.

  • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT):

    • Provided comprehensive MOT services to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow around the construction zone.
